Thracian Helm
Price:
$139.95
Helmets such as this Thracian style helm would have been a common site in the massed phalanxes fielded by Alexander the Great. A unique style, the helmet is directly inspired by the forward-sloping Phyrgian style cap – a popular style of the time. The cheekplates give ample protection to the face and in typical style for the time they are stylistically rendered to give the appearance of a face and facial hair.
This helmet is crafted from period-appropriate bronze and has hinged cheekplates. Integrated rings allow for the cheekplates to be fastened and secured around the chin. The interior is blackened and unlined – included is a padded cotton arming cap which can be inserted into the helmet to provide cushioning.
