One side shows the simple entry, as seen on classroom walls, giving just the atomic number (22), the atomic weight (47.87), the symbol (Ti) and the name (Titanium). On the other side is a more complete entry providing additional technical information including the melting point (1668 degrees C), the specific gravity or “density” (4.51 g/cc) [grams per cubic centimeter, with water = 1.0] We also show the purity of the sample at 99.7% (this is “commercially pure” titanium, grade 2, or CP2 in trade shorthand). Finally, we inscribe the sample with its actual measured weight in grams and tenths. Made in the U.S.

The size of the token is 1″ on the flat square sides or almost 1.5″ diagonally corner to corner. The thickness is about 1/16″.

With a weight of 6.8 grams, the sample contains about 0.14205 moles of titanium atoms (6.8g / 47.87 g/moles = 0.14205 mole)

According to Avogadro’s number, the number of atoms in each “mole” is 6.0221413e+23.

So this sample contains approximately 8.55 x 10 to the 22 power atoms of titanium. Written out long hand that would be:
