Shrewsbury Longsword - Stage Combat Version

The Shrewsbury Sword is named after the battle of Shrewsbury in the year 1403. Henry IV defeated the rebel forces of Henry Percy two miles outside of this Welsh border city. A typical 15th century sword featuring a diamond shaped blade, scent-stopper brass pommel and pierced guard.

This Shrewsbury Longsword has a thick, blunted blade built for stage and sport combat. The hilt is steel and the grip is wood with a wrap of ochre-hued leather. The sword comes with a wooden scabbard which is bound in leather and completed with steel fittings.
